Chicken Basil Recipe:
Chicken basil, also known as gai pad gra pow is considered to be the classics of Thai food and is not very difficult to make. The major ingredients required to make chicken basil includes 2tbsp oil, 4-1 thai chili pepper, 1 tbsp sugar, 1-2 packages holy basil, 1/2lb ground chicken, 1 tbsp minced garlic, plus 3 tbsp fish sauce.
Cooking instructions:
Mince the chili pepper and garlic together. Clean and pick gra-pow leaves. These leaves are basically used for flavors. Heat the oil and fry garlic and chili pepper. Add the ground chicken when the garlic turns golden brown and stir them well. Continue stirring till all the juice is gone. Put fish sauce and sugar. Add the basil leaves to be mixed with the meat and remove from the heat. You can garnish the plate with gai pad gra pow and serve hot. Enjoy with rice.
Bamboo Shoot Yum:
The ingredients needed to make bamboo shoot yum includes 2 tbsp toasted rice, 1/2 lime, 1 tsp ground dried chili pepper, 2 green onion, 1 tsp fish sauce as well as 1/2 bottle bamboo shoots.
The bamboo shoot comes in a jar and are partially shredded. You can boil these shoots in water for few minutes.
Add sliced onion, fish sauce, ground dried chili pepper, lime juice and half of ground toasted rice. Mix them properly and place on a serving plate. You can sprinkle the remaining half of ground toasted rice. Add chili pepper for more spicy taste. Serve the dish with rice.
Tips: if you prefer vegetarian food, then you can use soy sauce instead of fish sauce.
